Therapy Matching Built on Personality and Fit, Not Just Availability

The Challenge

"Most therapy platforms hand people a list and wish them luck, matching on location, availability or credentials. Ebony Coldrey, a registered counsellor in Perth, saw in private practice that matching clients with therapists on personality and communication fit made a real difference, and set out to build a platform that works that way."

The product had to feel human in a moment when people are often at their most vulnerable. It needed a short, comfortable quiz, matches people could trust, and a warm way to reach out, while also giving therapists a reason to join a new platform before it launched.

Our Approach

DevForge designed and built InPsync end to end: the UX and UI, the marketing website and waitlist, the web platform in Next.js, and a NestJS backend with the matching engine. The engine compares a client's personality, attachment style and communication preferences with each therapist's approach, so people start with a short list of therapists they're likely to click with.

What we built

A three-step experience for clients: take the quiz, scroll through personalised matches, and reach out with a short introduction. For therapists, a founding-therapist waitlist and profile flow for the beta. Around it, a marketing site that explains the research behind the approach, with separate waitlists for clients and therapists.
